# Making Complex Operations Easier to Run

## Freight brokerage is the proving ground here, but the same pattern shows up anywhere follow-up, software, automation, websites, and measurement sit in separate lanes. I write about turning that sprawl into systems teams can understand, trust, and improve.

Operations first. Technology second. Growth tied back to the daily work.

About Josh

## Operations are where strategy meets reality

Currently: COO, Infinity Software Solutions

I work on the systems and processes that determine whether a business can actually execute: quoting, coverage, follow-up, communication, billing, websites, reporting, and the handoffs between them. The work is messy because those pieces rarely line up cleanly inside one system.

My background is in building and operating freight technology. At Infinity Software Solutions, I’ve helped build BrokerPro TMS and BrokerOS, systems used by independent freight brokerages to run their operations and grow online. That work usually starts with the actual workflow, then shapes the software, automation, and measurement layer around the way the business really moves.

The writing here is an extension of that work: thinking through the problems that keep showing up, the tools worth understanding, and the patterns that hold up at scale. Freight brokerage makes the tension obvious, but the same pattern shows up anywhere systems, execution, and growth drift apart.

## Focus Areas

The writing here follows the places where operations, technology, and growth tend to get tangled, with freight brokerage as the proving ground.

Freight Brokerage Operations

The workflows, handoffs, and operating habits that reveal where brokerages break down and where larger systems problems start to show.

Systems and Process Design

Turning repeated decisions into durable systems instead of relying on memory, heroics, or cleanup work.

Automation and AI

Using automation where it removes avoidable work, improves follow-through, or gives teams better context.

Website Strategy

Treating websites as discoverability, trust, and operational infrastructure, not just brochures or a separate marketing layer.

KPIs and Measurement

Making the right signals visible so leaders can improve the work, not just report on it after the fact.

Growth Connected to Execution

Connecting sales, service, follow-up, and operations so growth plans have a path into daily behavior instead of living in separate dashboards.

The Work

## Systems, platforms, and operating context

The work often shows up around brokerage workflows, websites, CRM data, integrations, dashboards, automation, and the processes connecting them.

Growth Platform · Web · CRM · Intelligence

### BrokerOS

Managed website, CRM, and analytics infrastructure for freight brokerages. Built to improve discoverability, lead capture, and operational visibility with continuous refinement built in. [Visit brokeros.com](https://brokeros.com/)

Transportation Management · Freight Operations

### BrokerPro TMS

Transportation management software for freight brokerages. Covers quoting, dispatch, carrier management, billing, and operating workflow from end to end. [Visit brokerpro.com](https://brokerpro.com/)

Workflow Design · CRM · Integrations · AI

### Systems & Automation

Custom workflow design, CRM configuration, and automation strategy across Zoho, HubSpot, and brokerage-specific tooling. Built around the process gaps that slow teams down and the systems needed to fix them.

## Recent Writing

A few recent pieces on automation, measurement, and making system behavior easier to trust.

### [What a 25-Year-Old Software Company Taught Me About Growth](/posts/what-a-25-year-old-software-company-taught-me-about-growth/)

A 25-year-old software company taught me that longevity creates trust and knowledge, but growth still requires a clear story, broader customer listening, commercial systems, and the judgment to use AI well.

### [The Work Was Good Enough. The Data Wasn’t.](/posts/the-work-was-good-enough-the-data-wasnt/)

Our CRM processes were good enough to keep the business moving, but they were not designed to answer every question an investor or operator might ask years later. Connecting ChatGPT directly to Zoho CRM helped compress months of investigation and systems work into a practical path toward trustworthy recurring-revenue KPIs.

[![Abstract operational systems image representing AI embedded inside business workflows.](/images/posts/2026/why-we-leaned-in-on-brokerpro-ai_hu_c90216b3a3714a81.webp "Abstract operational systems image representing AI embedded inside business workflows.")](/posts/why-we-leaned-in-on-brokerpro-ai/)

### [Why We Leaned In on BrokerPro AI](/posts/why-we-leaned-in-on-brokerpro-ai/)

We leaned into BrokerPro AI because practical AI belongs inside the work itself, where it can remove drag without asking teams to change how they operate.
